SINGLE VISIT DENTISTRY

With computer-driven tools, custom restorations take place in a matter of minutes, which means we can restore a damaged tooth in a single visit.

We make use of the latest advancements in computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.

CEREC is a computer supported process for all-ceramic fillings, crowns and veneers in only one appointment at the dentist.

CEREC restorations optimally match natural tooth colour and form and have a long lifespan, at least as long as gold.

How it works

1. The treating dentist prepares the tooth being restored either as a crown, veneer, inlay, onlay or overlay.
2. The tooth is then coated with a blue powder, imaged by a 3D imaging camera and uploaded to the CEREC computer.
3. A restoration is designed by the dentist to restore the tooth to its appropriate form and function.
4. This data is sent to a milling machine and is then milled out of a solid ceramic block. Milling time varies from as little as four minutes to as long as twenty depending on the complexity of the restoration and the age of the milling unit.
